December 2016: A station practice meeting with stations set up SPECIFICALLY to review many of the STUART BATTY teachings, specifically the limited number of CUTS that he teaches as essential and comprehensive to good woodturning. Each station had a demonstrator/mentor to help you learn and practice Stuart’s best teachings ! In addition there was a SEASONAL PARTY with some snacks and drinks.
November 2016, Christmas and Holiday turned ornaments by Joe Mach.
October 2016 – Woodturning legend Stuart Batty joined us in Spokane for 3 full days, October 8-10. March 2016 – Everett Best demonstrated how he creates his unique tables by combining turning and carving.
February 2016 – A “full station on board!” hands on goblet turning fest !
January 2016 – Design and execution of goblets was presented by Pat Hickey. Goblets are a unique project for turners, as they involve some hollowing techniques along with spindle turning techniques. Designs vary widely and tools can be simple to complex ! We intend to follow up the January meeting in February with a “full station on board!” hands on goblet turning fest !
November 2015 – This was an Open Turning Night – stations were set up for members to turn tops, Christmas trees and Christmas ornaments.

October 2015 – Betty Scarpino came to Spokane October 17-18 for a day-long demo and a full day of hands-on teaching. Further information here: Betty Scarpino Demo. Betty is a world class turner, carver and embellisher, and a wonderful demonstrator. IF YOU HAD BEEN THERE YOU WOULD HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING ! GUARANTEED !!!!!!
