Sept 25
I did not have the privilege of making this meeting, but I was told Ron LaRue did a fantastic job demonstrating ornaments. Below are submissions for the club show and tell. Also, Smiley Hatcher submitted a beautiful pink pen in the “Bring Back Bag” for Breast Cancer Awareness. Enjoy.

August
Louis Dehan turned an ornament and demonstrated how to turn a finial. I was impressed, I had never seen this done before. Now I’m a little more inclined to try it. Thanks Louis. Below are pieces displayed at the meeting.

July 2025
July was the club’s picnic at Eagle Ridge. No pictures were submitted- probably because everyone was too busy partaking in all the great food. Oh, Sam’s brisket was outstanding as usual. Thanks to all that turned out for the event on a rather hot day.
Jun 2025
June’s meeting entailed multiple demonstrations by Matt Monaco. These demonstrations were particularly interesting since he basically turned a top and bowl using the skew tool. His skews entail a special rounded grind that really made the demonstrations fascinating. Thanks Matt. The following pieces were on display by our club turners.

May 2025
Damon performed a demonstration on turning one of his signature fish. This was a demonstration on turning at very high speeds. He went into a detail explanation on the why of turning at the high speed in order to aid the turning tool to traverse the gap on a square or flat piece of wood. He also showed how to use a vacuum chuck as a jam chuck. Very unique turning. Enjoy the below pics for the Show and Tell.

April 2025
Steve Whitford performed a demonstration on basic bowl turning. There were quite a few submissions for Show and Tell. Don Scott displayed his extraordinary sea piece with an octopus as the center attraction.

March 2025
Shelly Hayes turned a basic box and answered many questions on fitting the lid etc.
February Meeting 25
Damon presented a demonstration and discussion on his methods and materials used to embellish your turnings with dyes and various colors to include paint layering and exposure by sanding or other processes. He encouraged group members to play on their own to acquire the effect you want for the piece you turned. Below are pictures of Show and Tell.

January Meeting 25
The club sponsored an IRD by Ron DeHeer on mastering the skew. A link to the presentation will be available soon. Below are pictures of Show and Tell.

October Round Robin Demonstrations
I believe everyone who attended this event would agree it was fun and a great learning experience. Below are some of the pictures that Nora and I had on our phones. Brian asked if others had any more pictures to post, but this seems to be it. My hat is off to the following Demonstrators:
- 1. Mariann Patton- (Liming)
- 2. John Fox- (Sharpening)
- 3. Ron Larue- (Various items)
- 4. Sam Frazier- (Coring)
- 5. Don Scott- (Top with a twist)
- 6. Tony Vigilante- (Clock)
