Our Ethics and Legal Declarations

The INW Woodturners club was formed and is operating exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes. We are an IRS 501(c)3 tax exempt organization and incorporated in the State of Washington as such. Keeping this in mind, club members should maintain civil decorum and refrain from personal commentary that might be offensive to other club members.

INW subscribes to the AAW Code of Conduct and Ethics.  We do not discriminate based on age, race, creed, religion, sexual orientation, (nor on woodturning abilities), and we will not allow such discriminatory practices from our members or guests.

All our events, including regular meetings, conform to the AAW minimum age requirement of 10 years of age. All minors must have a parent or guardian in attendance with them. General meetings are open to all members and guests.   At the present time, all Zoom or other virtual meetings are open to members only.

Use of the INW Woodturners web site policy

It is the intent of the Inland Northwest Woodturners website to provide an enjoyable, educational community for all woodturners.  We support all the AAW code of ethics.  To that effect:

  • All materials must relate to woodturning or the club. Material MAY NOT be used to advertise or promote a product that is not approved by the INW Board.
  • We have the right, but not the obligation, to remove, edit, or relocate any content that we feel violates the standards of our site.
  • INW does not allow discrimination of any type, including, but not limited to: race, gender, sexual orientation, or woodturning ability.  We reserve the right to terminate membership to INW per the terms of our bylaws.

Logging into this website constitutes acceptance of the guidelines.

The Policy of the American Association of Woodturners and INW

The AAW Privacy Policy was unanimously approved on May 17, 2017 as follows:

The American Association of Woodturners (AAW) will use any personal information provided by or about its membership for AAW business only. This includes names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. Any use of this information will be limited to activities directly sponsored by or related to the American Association of Woodturners, including activities by officers of its chartered local chapters when directly related to authorized AAW business. Personal information will never be loaned, sold, or provided to any other party for any other purpose. This revised policy will be integrated into all appropriate documents.

This policy allows the officers of local chapters such as INW Woodturners to use AAW member personal information in support of activities that are specifically authorized by the AAW and its Board. Furthermore, chapter officers will be in violation of the AAW Privacy Policy if they use information obtained in any other manner or by disclosing that information to any third parties.
