February 2024 – Ron Gooley

Although I never got to know him, what I learned from Doug Eaton and Ron Valley says it all. A father, devoted husband, and remarkable woodturner. Ron Gooley was the definition of a leader in this club. Starting out as a farmer and later earning a PHD in geology. Ron is survived by his wife Carolyn. As a resident of Riverview he convinced the CEO that a wood shop would be a great addition to their community and so it happened. Ron started a mentoring program there and became involved in our club serving as President and Board Member. Ron was always available to the Club and members for whatever was needed. Above all, Ron was a friend to every club member. Our very first selected Emeritus member. You are missed.
